NASA just released this image that was produced in 2010 by the Hubble Telescope. It's name is NGC 2841 and is about 46 million light years away in Ursa Major (The Bear). This galaxy provides little evidence of containing "emission nebulae" which is thought to be necessary to be a star producing galaxy. The gas and dust in emission nebulae is thought to be the star forming material necessary for that activity. The optical filters used in the making of this image range from ultra violet to near infrared.
